Participating in the tree planting event of our corporate partnership at Shimen Reservoir in response to the Earth Day in 2023

Utechzone was invited to the event "Tree planting and environmental education activity at Shihmen Reservoir", which was organized by Unimicron. Unimicron planted approximately 1,000 tree seedlings (including Chinese fringe tree, Cape Jasmine, and Common Jasmin Orange) along the leisure trail by the Da Han River near Shimen Reservoir. The event was held in response to the Earth Day on April 22, 2023, aiming to make contribution to the preservation of our planet by planting trees. Through such collaboration with our corporate partners, we collectively focus on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues and work towards the goals of preserving the natural environment and maintaining biodiversity.

2023 LOHAS Shulin Bicycle Tour, Sustaining Love for the Earth

Utechzone sponsored the 14th LOHAS Shulin Bicycle Tour, which was organized by the Shulin District Sports Association in New Taipei City. Participants rode bicycles from Shulin to the Longyao Bridge in Yingge, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. In this year, the cycling event introduced the "Carbon Reduction Map Challenge" that allowed the participants to understand the importance of environmental protection in daily lives. Participants who completed the challenge were rewarded with desktop potted plants so as to encourage carbon reduction and environmental conservation together.

Support Rural Medical Development-Puli Christian Hospital

The Company donated to Puli Christian Hospital to strengthen the training of nursing staff for medical development. Because Puli Christian Hospital is a rural hospital, the retention rate of medical staff is not high. The hospital hopes to train more nursing talents to serve in the local area. Also, it hopes to stabilize and cultivate local nursing talents staying in their hometown to serve, and to strengthen the capacity of medical services in Nantou area.

Puli Christian Hospital has been established in Puli for 60 years. In addition to pursuing progress in medical care, it also plans for the long-term care teaching buildings in advance in line with government policies. It is expected that in addition to the long-term care, there will be innovative services and further education training for improving the quality of long-term care.

2020 Disadvantaged Student Summer Vacation Learning Project

"2020 Disadvantaged Student Summer Vacation Learning Project" was jointly organized by Shu Lin Senior High School, New Taipei City Sport Federation, Shu Lin District Sport Association and Utechzone, aimed to provide diverse extracurricular activities for those children with lower family income to achieve balanced development in moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic in elementary school.

According to the statistics of Children Welfare League, nearly 40% of children in Taiwan endure hunger for no school lunch during summer vacation, 57% have no adult care, 30% have to look after the younger family members, and 10% take charge of housework. Or even about 20% of children need to do part-time job to support their family incomes.

In regard to this, this project aimed to provide free and prior opportunities for disadvantage students to broaden knowledge in different fields by holding diverse summer camps, and further carry out the sports talent cultivation program, hope to pass on professional sport skills to teenagers and increase population in doing sports.

Charity for Daan Sheltered Farm

Utechzone and locals provided construction aid for Daan Sheltered Farm of New Taipei City to repair facilities suffering from frequent storm damage since establishment, with Councilor Ms. Hong Chia Chun’s effort, aimed to make sheltered farm employees have a better working environment.

Counselled by Labor Affairs Department of New Taipei City, Daan Sheltered Farm of New Taipei City provides employment for 46 multiple handicaps employees and is the only horticultural sheltered farm in the northern Taiwan. The services of Daan Sheltered Farm include flowers, potted plants cultivation, hand-made essential oil soap, tourism guide and gardening. Recently, sheltered farm further develops wooden handicrafts by reusing waste wood to produce various products such as owl magnets, elk shape decoration and other handicrafts, which are quite well-known.

Through this worldwide platform, UTMVP, new bloods and ideas are injected to machine vision industry. In addition, there can be more techniques and information interchange between industrial and academic circles, working together to achieve better future.
